Meet our Founder
ALISON STROMING is a professional dancer, model, and entrepreneur. Born in Recife, Brazil and raised in the heart of New York City, she started her formal ballet training at nine years old at the School of American Ballet. After three years at SAB, Alison accepted a full tuition scholarship to the JKO School at American Ballet Theatre where she continued her studies. She spent four years in the professional division followed by a year as a company member of ABT Studio Company.
Alison’s professional ballet career began with the Alberta Ballet in Canada where she toured across the country and with recording artist Sarah McLachlan in her Hope Rising! Canadian Tour. She then spent one season with Ballet San Jose followed by four seasons with the Dance Theatre of Harlem dancing principal roles. During her time with Dance Theatre of Harlem, she performed across the United States and overseas in Mexico, Spain, Lithuania, Guatemala, Israel, Poland, Budapest, and Italy. Alison also had the opportunity to perform with Aretha Franklin at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, DC.
As a ballerina, she has been featured in national campaigns for Tumi Luggage, Canon, Under Armour, Free People Movement, Adidas, McDonalds, and American Eagle, which was featured on Times Square billboards. She also danced in music videos and projects for JLo, India Aire, Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, Brent Faiyaz, and Kanye West.
In 2018, Alison launched her own dancewear line, AS Dancewear, with focus on mentorship and empowerment. AS Dancewear can be found online and in dance boutique stores across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Alison currently teaches on several dance competitions including Youth America Grand Prix and continues to perform, teach, and choreograph across the globe.
